Terrific location, close to the action but not in the thick of the noise and traffic.

We needed to reschedule our 7 night stay Fter only 1 night due to a family emergency and the staff were so understanding. There was no mention of forfeiting the booking, they were more than happy to let us choose other dates and return when it suited us. Very much appreciated!

        No negatives!

The location was quite good, not near the beach but it was close to shops.

We were so dissapointed with the Lord Byron Resort. After seeing the images on Booked.net and the write up about the rooms we made our choice to stay there. On arrival we were put in the "Lord Byron Appartments" next door. They are nothing like the photos of the rooms advertised on Booked.net and by the looks of things havent even recieived a lick of paint since the 80'S. The kitchen stunk, it was terrible. The bed linnen - blankets which were thin and looked like they had come from the salvos bin. The bathroom light didnt work. It was noisy. It was like staying in a housing commission appartment. On check out the lady at reception sympathised, she'd heard it before and had passed on the previous complaints to the owners of the appartments to no avail. She said it wasnt a reflection of "Lord Byron Resort" as these appartmetns are seperately owned by individual owners. I dont agree, I booked and paid to stay the they Lord Byron Resort and the Lord Byron Resort shifted me over to the Appartments... Beware!! Make sure on your booking you specify - "do not put me in the appartments - resort only"

I found our stay, although it was only 1 night, to be very relaxing. The room was well appointed and quite comfortable. The location was very convenient to cafes, shops and beach. The staff at reception were very friendly and helpful.

Value for money and good location only 10 min walk to the beach

There was a problem with our booking and the room so we were given an upgrade, which was a good way to deal with the situation.

To access the room you had to exit the main hotel and go around the corner and to access the pool and spa facilities you had to go out of your room and the hotel and then back in through the main entrance (it was like the extra rooms were built on to the hotel, without the proper planning).

The proximity to the beach and town was excellent but I had pictured it differently and expected more of a resort atmosphere. On the other hand, we really enjoyed the space in our apartment here. The rooms including the in- room laundry facility, the 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, the living room, kitchen and dining room were very spacious.

In my opinion it was a hotel not a resort. It was pictured differently on the website and I expected more seclusion and a more spacious pool/resort area. I found this quite disappointing. The front desk staff member on the evening of our arrival was unable to give us the correct password to access the wireless internet service. He was (by his own admission) not tech-savy and was clueless as to how to help us. I suggest that management leave him adequate information to help guests with this service.

I liked the location and parking was good. The rooms were clean and it was nice having a balcony.

I didn't like carrying a heavy suitcase up 3 flights of stairs . My stay was for eight nights including 2 weekends. During the week it was peaceful and pleasant but the weekend nights were very disrupting to my sleep with guests coming in at all hours of the night and partying in their rooms. The walls seemed paper thin and all noise echoed through the building. At 2.30 am there was no one in the office to quieten the single partygoers in the room next to mine. I certainly wouldn't recommend this hotel to a family or a someone who wants peace and quiet, especially on the weekends. It's more suited to single people who don't mind loud noise at all hours of the night..

I found the facilities to be of an acceptable standard if nothing to rave about. The walk to the town centre isn't onerous.

The rooms could certainly do with some sound-proofing. Noise/conversations from neighbouring rooms and from the corridor were clearly audible in my room. Also, it would be a good idea to have a staff member at the front desk 24/7 to take control of situations when guests become rowdy late at night.

The Motel is not a resort. It is a basic motel standard with limited facilities and offers basic comfort at an affordable price which in season is overpriced.Staff are friendly and location is reasonable being on the main drag away from the beach but close to amenities.

      • Single

Quieter end of town. Under cover car-park. 10 mins walk to live end, bit further to beach. 5 mins walk from bus-station. Pool. Some restaurants and supermarket closeby.

More a motel than a resort. Property has seen better days. No breakfast/dining room. Self catering limited to breakfast (kettle, toaster, fridge)- no microwave. Door banging and staff conversations amplified along passage - very disturbing. Needed to pay on booking

The beds are in poor condition. The reception is open only until evening. The outside noise is high.
